Receive a FREE CAMERA BAG from Think Tank Photo

Week 12!

That means that after this week, we have our 3rd Monthly Wrap to do and we will be giving away another Pixel Pocket memory card wallet!

We are close, also, to our First Quarter Wrap, where we will be giving away a Think Tank Photo Turnstyle camera bag! You just have to make sure you are fully up-to-date with all 13 photos from the first quarter posted on the forums to be in the running!

Don’t forget, it’s not too late for you to join the challenge!

And if a photo every week is too much to commit to, check out our V3 Photo! Check it out! But, onto this Week’s theme!

Environmental Portraiture. Place the subject in their most familiar setting, and let them be themselves. (C) Peter Bower.

#VoTogs52: Narrative. (C) Peter Bower.

Week 12 we want you to tell a story and share a Narrative in your photograph.

The best images aren’t always those that are PERFECTLY executed, but one that shares a story. It tells the viewer about the subject, about the place, about the focus on the image. Every element in the photo should mean something to the image. So, plan your image and take care when creating it — be wary of background clutter unless it is significant to the story you are trying to share.

I will be sharing an article in the next couple of days to help you think about how you can create a narrative in your photograph. I also plan on sharing a collection of images in the form of a photo story, so keep an eye on the forums for that.

Entirely up to you what you photograph — portrait, self-portrait, landscape, architectural, street, any style you like. But share a story WITHIN your photograph! Have a think about this one carefully before you shoot!

Week 12 goes from the 19th of March until the 25th of March.

Swing by on the 21st of March for Week 13’s theme!

Keep in mind the Rules and you can find all the themes >>HERE<<

Finally, join our new forums and remember to post your weekly entry in the thread over there!
